Ivar Haglund

Ivar Haglund, a prominent figure in Seattle, especially on the waterfront, served on the Port Commission from 1984-1985. He is quoted as saying:

"Just down the harbor is one of the world’s great ports.  And it’s been built in the past 20 years.  It was the Port’s investment in equipment and development that built us enough new payrolls to offset the Boeing slump.  I’d like to see more of us give some recognition to that foresight.”
